Take a look at this picture and tell me if these are counterfeits or are they the real deal?

A legit wrench will have the part number on it.

Looks like somebody stamped snap-on onto some no-name wrenches. Font is wrong between the size and logo.

Very real. I have a 10 piece set of those. and a few extra pieces.
They don't have date codes on them. Maybe from the seventies.

100% real. I have a set marked exactly like that purchased off a SO truck in the mid 1980s. Should have "XSM1314 USA PAT 3273430", for example, on the other side, no date code stamp on mine.

The later "A" version dropped the PAT, changed the font (no underscore) and added a date stamp. I can't remember when I purchased the A versions.

The PAT was likely for the Flank Drive - that's about the time it was introduced.

I'd be suprised if anyone would fake an item like this. Yours have the same patina as mine, too. Chrome back then was more of an industrial hard-chrome color, less yellow than later.

Odd font for sizes and all, they are legit. Seems to be some in ebay as well.

That “set” is missing the 11/12 mm and has two 17/19 mm wrenches. That would kill it for me if I was looking to buy.

A couple of mine to show both sides. As mentioned previously, these were off a truck in the mid 1980s. For reference, several other styles. All marked with the same patent except the flare nut wrench and angle wrenches (not shown).

I've actually replaced most of the long DBEs. Starting with the "A" version, they're longer. I keep the older ones in the truck.

^^^ Those look a bit less (ab)used than mine. Not bad for probably 30+ years old!

FWIW, I looked up the Flank Drive PAT# above: Granted 1966.

I picked up that set maybe 8 or 10 years ago mainly because it was old script with the mm markings.
I didn't need them since I had a set from the mid-eighties. The mm markings made me grab them.
Coupled with the old logo on the kit bag they sorta had a old time vintage feeling.

Here‘s the mid eighties set. For comparison, the 60 deg. offset has the mm marking.
