Howdy,
Just got a Snap On 118-008, YA2230 Plasma cutter. Got it home and it barely cuts sheet metal (.02") The electrode was very worn so I got some new ones and tips on order.. Got the manual from Snap on and it says it can cut up to 1/2" mild steel. I think it will be amazing if it cuts 1/4" from what I've see so far. Any one have any tips on making this machine work well? I got the consumables from Century and the electrode looks different then the one I took out, do they have to look identical to work right? Thanks

This is a good question to ask BEFORE getting it. I am sure if you hold out long enough will be able to find someone has actually seen one work.

Try calling 1 800 ABC WELD. CK Systematics makes the plasma cutters for Snap-on. Not sure about yours, that is a very old model.
