SDDDM1AR Pocket Screwdriver with Reversible Bit $16.50

For some reason I thought these were unobtainium. Turns out they have three colors on the website right now.

My dealer sells them for less; I have two. I keep one in my laptop case for traveling. I use it all the time. Wish they had a ph1 reversible bit too!

SK had a similar one, shorter handle, longer shank. I have a half dozen or so hanging around. Amazingly useful.

I have an SK one that's the same design as the Channellock and Wright ones out there, just with a different handle style. They have longer, narrower shanks that are retained with a friction fit o-ring, whereas the Snap-on one takes a 1/4" bit retained by a magnet.

The SK/Channellock/Wright ones have a #1 phillips and smaller slotted driver. The Snap-on has a #2 phillips/larger slotted.

I like that the Snap-on can take 1/4" powerblades, although the handle is too small to really be practical. The magnet is also just a hair too deep to work with nutsetters.

I love mine, but its a fun example of how snap on colors, handle shape, and the logo make everything OK because there would be a truckload of hate if Harbor Freight put out a screwdriver in which the driver bit was turned by a molded plastic hex.

That type of bit seems to come in two hex sizes. I think they are 1/4 and 5/16. While I have no idea what quality you might find, You can get the ph1, ph2 and two sizes of flat blade in various combinatuons of phillips- phillips and flat-flat or ph1- small flat and ph2- large flat. I have seen them sold loose a number of times

I have 3 of these. One flat bit, flat bit with magnet, and a Phillips head version. I also have the screwdriver the OP is referencing, in green of course. But I will say my dealers do not seem to stock it. I had to order it.

I never use the reversible bit one but the Orange one is my most used tool!!

Well, my screwdriver came from Snap On yesterday. Haven't found a use for it yet.

Why couldn't they ship a 9400GMBO by mistake? :bounce:

I have an industrial millwright/mining background. I love these reversible pocket screwdrivers. I have two I carry regularly, the snap on the OP mentioned and an sk one which is a bit longer but it is a P1/narrower flathead. Also I carry a traditional flathead pocket screwdriver that gets used more as a scraper/mini pry bar.

Harry Epstein has the S-K pocket screwdriver for $3.16. I ordered several to spread them around (home, office, tool box, etc.).

Pretty handy and the price is right!

I got the SK version as a freebie from HJE during one of their Fourth of July events. My SO driver gave me a bunch of the little ones with the magnet on the top but I managed to lose them all. Both very handy and useful.

Reminds me of the vessel 220w which has quickly become my favorite driver. It's ability to take 1/4 in bits makes it a great almost stubby/nut driver/ screw driver depending on the bits used. I love the thing. If it had a pocketclip, it wouldnt leave my side.

It's got me thinking now. Maybe I can fab something up....
