I don't have one handy, and the picture I see above isn't referring to your question, but perhaps this will clear things up. It is a RADIUS gauge. It measures the shoulder of the striking end.

Wow.... I didn't fully read and comprehend the OPs question, which is a major pet peeve of mine when other people don't do that. I apologize to all present.lol. number two I did not realize those gauges even have that.

Does anybody even use that? I've never used the Gage period. Once I get stabby on the Belt Sander and the other side gets round like the other chisels on the Belt Sander.

Is this Gage OSHA approved or something? Serious question.
