I have a snap on quick release ratchet that won't hold the socket you can pull and put on the socket with ease without using the detention button. Will a rebuild kit fix this?

I wonder if there is grit in the release mechanism or around the ball that's preventing it from fully returning to the locked position. Maybe a thorough cleaning and oiling will fix the issue.

Thanks guys, I will take it apart and clean it first of that doesn't help I'll get a lot for it. And yea the sockets have the hole for the ball to seat in.

Snap-On QR are offset a little I noticed. Some brand sockets and extensions simply don't lock on them even when new. My Nepros/Cman don't have this problem.
