Hello to all. I recently purchased a vintage Snap On radio and was jipped in the process. Seller said it work but once it arrived it didnt(go figure). Well i took it apart and saw a few capacitors that looked burnt replaced them. Also tested the transformer and found it to be bad...well replaced it...damn thing powers on now but still wont make sound. Im at my wits end with it especially since i have pretty much maxed out my electronics knowledge. I know this maybe and inexpensive radio but i think its pretty freaking cool...and my girl gave it to me for christmas..I was wondering if someone here is an electronics guru and if he/she would take on the task of fixing it for me. I am willing to pay and would ship it to that person or if they are here locally in Houston, Tx even better. Attached is a link of one that recently sold on ebay..

Thanks rwhite for the lesson on using Google . It really helped out. All kidding aside...I know there are multiple repair shops around here in Houston. However I have never had any electronic equipment that I am actually considering repairing vs replacing. I was looking for some input from some one that knows of a place here in Houston or somewhere they have had these services renedered at. At the same time after lurking around here i see that there are very knowledgeable people lurking around here as well. After reading a few of the threads where morals and consious are discussed I figured there may be a person with these capabilities and that well all in all not screw me over. Like I said I am willing to ship and pay for these services.

Contact United Radio. I worked in the consumer electronics industry for over 10 years and used their repair services numerous times. They are very fairly priced and do excellent work. Many repair shops outsource this type of work to them.

You are probably looking at a $30 repair at most...I just don't understand the level of anxiety associated with simply taking it to your local mom-and-pop radio and TV repair shop and having it looked at. Good Grief....

Cronic just got off the phone with United Radio...they can not help me out since this is a brand that they do not work on and have no literature to go off of. Rwhite...I think I have been pretty clear on what I am asking here...if not let me make it a little easier for you to understand..I as in (nandomart) is looking for someone to recommend an electronics repair place here in Houston, Tx which someone on this forum has dealt with, or a place where some one has had electronic work done (a couple have recommended one and they cannot help me out) or someone on this board that is capable of doing such work. I dont understand your level of anxiety for me to take it to a "mom and pops" store that I have never dealt with or that no one has recommended to me. I tend to do buisness by word of mouth or referrals. I like to know based on others experiences if the person/company in question meets the expectactions that i am looking for.
