I saw it on their site, it is a 1/4" Low Pro ratchet. It is priced at only $30.50. I can't find much info on it besides what is on the page which I have pasted below. I was wondering what makes this ratchet half the price of the others, and if it is a good investment.

It has to be used with the low profile sockets. Some pics of the set can be found here. http://s823.photobucket.com/albums/zz154/chadster1/Snap-on 110RTSM/

I think I'll order a set from my Snap-on guy tomorrow. I had to change a blend door actuator on a Crown Vic a while back that totally sucked. The book called for removing the plenum to get to it, I got it done by moving the dash back and swearing and modifying stuff. It was a cop car so I had to remove the radio stack and center console, I might have been able to skip a lot of the BS with a low profile set.

O I see, I knew it couldn't be a standard ratchet for that price. It is a very neat tool thou, still might pick it up when I get ahold of the SO guy around here.

Any idea if they are going to have a combined set? I don't see a need for two ratchets and I would like the SAE sockets, also.

is there a way to make the rat72 into a 1/4 ratchet???

Not sure this question makes any sense.

> rat 72 has 1/4 bit drive adapter, yes
> rat 72 if adapted to 1/4 square drive is same as t72 stack height, so no

I'm not sure why you would do that, maybe I'm not understanding but if you putt one of those in a wrench you end up with something just as thick as a ratchet, if you are looking for a super low profile 1/4 inch I may suggest this.

http://www.harborfreight.com/14-in-38-in-drive-long-reach-dual-flex-head-ratchet-67994.html

They also have a non flex version, and I think ez red makes a model as well, but I own this and the head is no thicker than a box end of a wrench

As alluded to above, a 13mm ratchet wrench with the SO adapter is thicker than a regular 1/4 inch ratchet, and the ratcheting mechanism in a oexr or rat72 a alot weaker than a t72 series ratchet.

For this reason you may want to avoid the exercise. Facom, hazet and GW give you a 10mm like your picture. Snap on uses 11 (7/16), 13 (1/2), 16 (5/8), and 19mm (3/4in) which seem odd at first but allow them to use the same tool for SAE/Metric customers like military.
