Snap-on ratchet age/value

First let me be clear, these are NOT for sale.

My neighbor was given these by his father-in-law, who was a mechanic in the 50s and 60s. He plans to clean them up, mount them in a display case and give them back to him as a Christmas gift. He doesn't care, but I want to know if these are as old as they look and, more importantly, what they're worth. Maybe I can convince him to keep them!

typically the date code is found between the "on" and "off" selector
