Snap on ratchet help.

I got this up 3/8 ratchet today from a guy I'm hoping to buy some other tools from. Bought this as an "ice breaker". Can anyone help me date it? The marks on it are - SNAP-ON GF7208 USA and they wrap around the handle. I gave him 10 bucks for it. There was a 3/8 Thorsen socket on it that he threw in with it . How did I do?

. You can figure out the year it was made; by looking up the date code, the code is in the recessed selector area... between on/off. I think the model number is GF720 "B" not "8".

Thanks. I think you're right about the "B"

Looks like a "0" = 1930?

It does look like an "0"...but the writing doesn't seem to have a 1930's style to it. Maybe 1990?

I've searched, but I was only to find a few previous sales on Ebay. The model(?) number is different then the ones listed on the snap on identification site. I believe the date code is for 1990. But is it an industrial finish model? If so what was the reason for the different finishes? Thanks.

Industrial is less expensive to produce and is ideal for situations where you can't take the chance of chrome flaking off and contaminating something.
