Does SO make this ratchet:

-Dual 80
-Hard plastic handle
-3/8" drive
-regular length, not long
-NOT a flex head

If so, does anyone have that ratchet #?
Thank you!

May be discontinued may need to buy used or find NOS on a truck. Replacement handles seem to be available on Snapon site though.

With Snap On of late, the hard handle ratchet’s seem to come and go.

At one time they were discontinued completely, then they came back as “specials”, then into the catalogue again.

But at any one time there never seems to be the complete range available.

Probably leaves them scope to bring out special runs or special colours?

I honestly don't think that they can keep up with production on a lot of items; there are so many part numbers to produce with all the colors and options. It's a big change from 1980 as far as selection. I don't spend a lot of time on their website, but just casually browsing now and then, they are out of stock on stuff all of the time.

That is also very true.

The last of the older hard handle ratchets were only in two colours - black and orange. Before that, only black.

Having said that, it’s easy to keep relatively standard ratchet’s, and add the coloured handles as required.

I love the roto head with the hard handle - just the right shape to use in any orientation!

I believe they were pretty much replaced by the soft handles and the popularity dropped off, personally I prefer the plain chrome plated handle, I have 1 soft and rarely use it.

I generally prefer the metal handle too, but in some cases I like the hard handle.

Makes a big difference in 1/4” drive - much nicer to hold.

I’m glad I got mine when I did though.

Cost is higher and availability is poorer now.

I know its cosmetic and wears with use, but neither of those font styles really ever grew on me.
I’ve tried to like them, but I’ll always favor the original. Everything else looks like a toy to me.

I don't think the 710 Snap on ratchet can be switched to 1/2, only 720 and above as the gear is a little too big for the body.
