I bought this Snap-on 3/8” drive ratchet a few years ago at an estate sale. The fellow was a mechanic for US Air/Allegheny Airlines back in the day.

I believe it is a 1964 vintage. Can these be rebuilt? If so, does Snap-on carry this kit still?

I have obtained kits from Snap-On before they were needed, as I found that once the kits were gone, you were out of luck unless you had a Snap-On dealer that would replace them for you. Many of my ratchet are of that vintage, and I believe that they are no longer stocked. On Monday, call Snap On with the ratchet part number, and they will let you know if it is still in stock or if it needs replacement. If it needs replacement with a new one, they may replace it without requiring you to return the old one, and at other times, they want it back. I had a spring compressor replaced because one small part broke, but I had to send it back before the new one arrived. I honestly think that they just put my old one into a box and shipped it back to me with the missing part.

I can’t even tell where model number is. On the Collecting Snap-on website they don’t show a plastic handle until 1975.

It must have been at some point going by the plastic cap.
originally it probably had the back of the gear facing out or a metal cap.
I got a rebuild kit for an old 20 tooth ratchet which that one most likely was.
the kit I was sent was RKRA33ALS.
