Since I was thinking about it, I rounded them up and took a picture. Turns out I have 8 of them, anyone know of a model I'm missing (not a color)? The red one I could part with easily.

Can't agree with this. I have several Snap On ratcheting screwdrivers and didn't pay retail for them. Ebay, a craiglist lot of tools that included one, GJ classifieds, etc. I think I bought just one, a long ratcheting T driver, off the truck at around full price. They are out there, the question becomes whether the search is worth it.

Oh, I can agree on principal w Kythri. The OP has stated that he equates paying retail with "getting shafted". He might win his game against the world in any number of arenas, but Snap On tools is not an easy target for his hobby of gaining endorphins by perceiving that he's come out ON TOP of his fellow man.

Correction. I don’t want to pay List price.

I own a snap on and a few Williams. To me if I could get the snAppy for a fair price of 4o all in I’d do it. I could not and purchased a few williams. For my use they are equal. Only issue is knurling helps when hands are greasy. I’ll survive.

I don’t like it when people try to make others look cheap for not wanting to get shafted. You pay msrp for your cars ?

Sorry if I offended you. Still, a new Snap On ratcheting screwdriver costs about $68. You want to pay about $40. That’s 59% of list, or a 41% discount. Once again, “What a great world that would be.” Cheap? I don’t know. Unrealistic expectations? Maybe so.

Are you saying you bought it new in 1995, or you bought a NOS tool recently for $40?

I bought it new off the truck in 1995. IIRC, the F936 I bought the same year was around $60-$70. My first Snap On tools. Still use them both at least weekly.

I have four SO ratcheting screwdrivers in decent shape. Picked up through estate sales, garage sales, and Craigslist. For fairly cheap money. I think the highest price paid was $25. Lowest $1.00. This was about two-three years back (more or less).

Definitely, few and far between around here in the current economic environment in this neck of the woods.

How do you like the Williams? Is the shaft removable? Is there a way to get around the lack of shaft knurling?

Good luck with your search.

Okay! So you’re saying a brand new, Snap On ratcheting screwdriver is available for $40. That’s great news! I’ll just need a “DeLorean” to get it. Thanks! :lol_hitti

Disagree all you want.

The OP already stated that he wants to buy them new, and that he didn't want to buy off eBay (he doesn't want to bid on them).

As such, that severely limits his options on obtaining new product. I stand by my statement.

Ah, I didn't read close enough, needing new and not wanting to bid does make it nigh unto impossible.
