Snap On Ratcheting Screwdriver Bit Question

I picked up a Snap On ratcheting screwdriver and I'm trying to determine if the bits are Snap On. I'm assuming they aren't as I don't see a part number on them. This leads me to believe they are generic bits someone replaced, but after looking at other examples I'm seeing different markings on different bits. Although I'm also not sure how many of those have also been replaced.

For those of you that have these, what are your thoughts? Or are they legit SO bits? I picked this thing up for $20 at a yard sale, so even if I have to buy some better quality bits, I'm not too disappointed.

Thank you. That's pretty much what I thought. I can't decide if I want to just buy some Zephyr bits since I keep reading they make them for Snap On, or spend the money on a set from SO.

Real Snap-on bits will have a circle Z for Zephyr.

As already discussed, you don’t have Snap On bits. Genuine bits will have a Snap On part number, and the slotted bits are a distinctive forged shape.

Zephyr used to make Snap On bits, but they haven’t for some while, at least I haven’t seen any in the U.K. I believe Snap On make their own now. I’ve seen Snap On bits that were made in Germany too.

The Zephyr bits are a fraction better than the Snap On ones to be honest. I’ve received Snap On bits that were cracked, and others that were distorted. Not a problem, quickly swapped, but never had those issues with Zephyr.

Get you a ZBB-4 set from Zephyr , you will have your bit need’s covered.
