Snap On ratcheting screwdriver compatible with GearDriver extensions?

As title states, I'm wondering if GearWrench GearDriver extensions will fit a Snap On ratcheting screwdriver? The GearDriver extensions seem to be pretty solid, but the handles themselves don't appear to be very good. I've got the stubby and full length, and both slip quite a bit, as well as free wheel. I've noticed that the GearDriver handles don't appear to be able to be taken apart/repaired.

Thoughts/opinions?

The gear wrench extensions are usable in the Snap On ratcheting screwdriver, both ends are 1/4".
From personal experience though, the are not usable in the Snap On battery power gun because the 1/4" female square is recessed way beyond the round opening in the gun, and the gear driver shaft is just a little wider than a Snap On extension shaft.

I have the short, long and t-handle GWs and they are all great. I actually thought the Snap-on ratcheting driver was licensed internals from GW for some reason, but I could be wrong.

I'd get the handles replaced by GW.

Cripe has the handles cheap from time to time, maybe a lubrication issue? I'd go with a try on the warranty too.

If they fuss on warranty, why not "creatively" find out how to open one?

Cripe is who I got them thru, in fact. I did try to open one, but all I accomplished was to remove the actual mechanism from the handle housing, and as far as I can see , no way to open them up. Might be some sort of snap ring or something that I'm missing, tho.

I got the Gear wrench screwdriver set on woot a few weeks ago. I was really hoping that the short shank would work my my Snapon screwdriver but the knurled surface goes inside the Snapon handle causing it to drag when it ratchets. The other shanks work fine

Are the bits included in the Gear Driver set good? This set costs the same as the long reach SO ratcheting driver and I didn't even know about them. Are they as good/good enough as the SO ratcheting driver? Do the flex extensions ****? I have plenty that **** and 1 or 2 that don't ****.

On the other hand, I already own the SO ones and the HF T-handle (which is a hell of a nice tool for HF) and the GJ thread about repairing the SO ones is bookmarked so I don't need the GW ones. But they look neat-o and I don't have a short handle driver.

I have two of these, maybe a better value at $30 each from Sears?

I've added a stubby handle to it as well as a 5/16 nut driver, though I recently bought the full nut driver set as well.

The bits are pretty standard non-special Chinese/Taiwan bits, nothing like the ones that came with my Felo E-Pro.

The flex extension is among the worst POS I've every bought. It handles ZERO torque before twisting up. Good side is that it appears undamaged after throwing.

Rest of the GearDriver stuff I like and via Cripe and NTX tools I bought every shank they make, metric and SAE nutdrivers, kit pictured, and all sizes of handles and adapters.

Didn't think I would like the kit at first and planned to dump out the plastic box and put everything into normal toolboxes, but turns out its handy to have a mini full set of tools, so it lives in my travel bag despite the weight.

Yes that is a better value. I only learned about these from this thread so that was just as an example.

I'm going to keep my eye on those, I have everything except a stubby so maybe that's all I'll get. Does Sears ever put that one on sale?

Check Cripe.

I have this set too, and while I rarely use it it's pretty good.

As a matter of fact, I think I need to start using it even more!

I have the older Kobalt ratcheting handles sets which look identical to the Gearwrench set: anyone know if they are. If they are I assume I can also use the extensions in a snap on T ratcheting handle

Yep. They have a shiny chrome finish, but are otherwise compatible with the Snap On.
