Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver ques?

I have a older snap-on ratcheting screwdriver. The plastic covering the reverse knob is cracked and scratched me, though a little epoxy would fix it fine. Should I just warranty it out or does it have more value to sell and just buy another used one. Its clear and I have never seen one in that "color" before and I think some crazy people collect certain colors.

OH LORD! Please tell me you did not say clear! Gross but true, I think a few on here might actually get a little wood just at the mere suggestion of a clear Snappy handle anything!

I'm no expert but that's a pretty coveted piece. You may be able to glue it with acetone, as it will melt the plastic the handle is made from and you could "weld" it that way to make a less obtrusive repair than the epoxy.

The way the crack is it would be very easy to just fill it with clear epoxy resin and be 100% and almost invisible. I was just trying to figure out if it was something that would be a shame to turn in. Funny thing is I found it under the hood of a used car I purchased a long time ago. A gift I guess?

If there is a gap the acetone would not be appropriate.

Nice gift, though. I'm sure someone here would want it but I don't know if it's worth more than a new one. The clear ones are, apparently, few and far between.

I was at Menards the other day and thought I saw a two-part transparent epoxy. Might want to look into that....

If you want to replace(but not throw away the clear reverse cap) pick up a black one for 5$ from snap-on SSDMR4A6J. And just so the end cap matches another 3$ SSDMR4A200R.

Just a thought.........
