Today I was given a soft handled ratcheting driver that the reverse cap is seized up on. It ratchets nice and smoothly, you just can't switch directions. The snap ring seems seized in its groove too, as I can't get it to release to take the cap off. Any suggestion on how to fix this? I considered soaking it in some type of penetrating oil, but I'm not sure how that will effect the handle. Any tips? Also, I'd love to get an 8 or 9 inch shank for this thing. Anyone know where I could pick one up for a reasonable price?
