It has two removable shanks; a short and a long. How secure is the shank? Does the shank wiggle around or wobble in the handle?

Mine wiggle just a very little. Seems about 1 mm of deflection at the tip. That amount of wiggle is completely a non-issue imho. They work great.

I know there was a thread years ago about removing a flat metal disc from a regular hard handle type snap on ratcheting screwdriver so you could use those style of blades with it. I think in that case, a rubber o ring retained the blade.
There are a whole bunch of blade shanks available.

The handle end of the blade has a spring ball with a corresponding detent in the drive gear.
I've removed the fixed blade from standard hard handles (including Williams) which is simply a push-on circlip on the blade under the selector cap. Some of the hard handles have the gear with the ball detents and some don't; I'm not sure why. The cap for the removable-shank driver has a slightly different rubber shank seal, IIRC.

The selector acts as a guide or bushing for the blade. They can be a bit snug when new which increases backdrag. This is a tool that’s better broken in.
