As an ex bodywork dude in UK, there's no such thing as the correct colour, Ive a few different snapon boxes and they're all different, best bet is pop a draw out, get down your local auto paint factors and match it to a bit of the draw you like best or want to replicate. The guys behind the desk are usually a friendly bunch and be happy to let you look at a book of RAL chips help you outTo clarty. There must be a car colour which matches snap on red surely?
I'm just trying to tidy up a cabinet which has rust spots. Are you trying to spot paint and need an exact match?
Not an exact match. It's just the drawer fronts. Are you trying to spot paint and need an exact match?
Take a drawer to the local paint shop. They can match it very closely. How are you planning on applying it?Not an exact match. It's just the drawer fronts.
Also watch out for matching faded paint and then having it not match when you polish everything after using it. My buddy did that. Make sure and polish it before color matching.I’ve found Kenosha Red hard to match. It’s a tomato red, like a Ferrari. A lot of the reds we see on stuff are colder reds like the HF boxes, cars etc.
Only thing to watch for is the old boxes fade a little and lighten. I have a new powder coated box and a 20yr old box that was probably painted. They are close but the older one is a little lighter, and more tomatoey.
