Snap on restoration full on custom

OK guys here goes. Thanks to GJ member Maexel for posting his custom Kennedy Harley box in the lets see your toolbox thread, has inspired me to get off my *** and get started on this old Snap-On. Here is what I started with. I've posted it before but here it is again. I custom painted this box about 6 years ago but I am going to pass it on to my son and he doesn't like purple.

Awesome, make sure you post pictures of the progress.... (if you need info about shops for hardware (diamond plate ...etc.let me know...))

So I got started on it today. Decided to start with the side box
KRM 274 first thing got out the old Wagner Power Stripier and removed all the stickers. Then out came the Makita 4 1/2" grinder and some wire wheels. Took it down to bare metal and then sprayed some etching primer. Here is some pics as I am done for the night.

I don't know how to enlarge pics with my phone sorry. I think if you click on them they get bigger. Phone is all I have right now, brother in law is fixing my lap top.
As the title says full on custom. I am thinking candy and flake, oh how I love flake maybe even some silver leaf if I feel frisky when I get to that point.

I'll work omit some more next weekend. I'm trying to figure out how to get the picture off the top box in one piece? I cleared over it when I painted it the first time.

Take the door off completely, frame it and and hang it on your wall (nice deco piece) and get (or make out of sheet metal) another cover door....

That may be doable I'll have to look at it closer. When I first got this box in 95 I paid 350 bucks for the hole set up. In 06 I painted it and put that pic on the lid and gave it to my dad low and behold it came back earlyer this year. Now I'm doing it again for my son.

That's the plan, he is only 5 and not to give anything away but his favorite colors are blue and green so I've got to figure out how to make that work. The plan is to get each piece ready for paint ask him again just to make sure I get it right.

OK guys had most of the day off today due to a mechanical failure in the Crane that could've killed a bunch of us but luckily we all got the hell out of the way and no one was hurt. Anyway I spent some time sanding on the side box, knocking down some high spots and knocking out some low spots. I've come across the fist problem. I think I have a salution but wanted everyone's feedback. The door is warped so I need to stiffen the back. I wanted to improve on so I was thinking maybe a little v pocket type deal on the back where the boy can put the latest issue of Hot Rod Magazine or what not. Thoughts please
