I'm pretty sure that's what I'm looking at but I know its not the B or the D and all the A's and C's I found pictures of have one deep box in the middle instead of two shallow. Confirmation of model and input on what its worth would be appreciated.

Are there any provisions (or room to add them) to bolt the box from the bottom on the rod boxes? I have a utility bed with a sliding generator rack that'd be a perfect spot for this if I can get it.

I'm sure if you removed the lower drawer you could drill some holes and mount it that way, i have no idea if there are any factory mounting holes in the bottom as my box is full and cannot be checked for you.

Roadchest boxes have the lid for covering the drawers when in transport, his is a roadbox.
NO!!! road boxes are built to a higher standard to handle the constant jostling of on the road. True, especially modern, road boxes with drop front covers will have a weather seal to keep the moisture out. Put that box in the rain and you will forever regret it.
It's just a drop front top box. A design of years past, about only seen now in road box. The drop front is nothing more than a means to lock the contents of the box.

Are you talking about the box I posted or scissorman's? Looks like something might have been dropped on top of the top cross section which made drawers A little crooked.

It's a KRA 59, standard SO top box for years. The KRA 61 is the 31" wide version. While any top box can be used as a road box, not all are ment for it. Drop fronts were popular for years as a way to lock drawers, just a simple easy way to do it. The KRA 62 is a road box, weighing close to 200 lbs empty compared to about 90 lbs for a KRA 59.
The one you posted. See how the middle drawers sag and the drawers that flank are at a downward angle to the middle drawers? That is because the drawer supports in the middle 1/3s of the box have been stretched, either from a static loading or dynamic loading (most likely being used as a road box) condition. The dent in the top left hand side of the compartment is a separate issue. Ignoring the fact it had a poor repaint on the bottom 3 drawers, with the structural issue I wouldn't pay much for that box, or even pursue it for that matter. Then again I have my fill of KRA59s and have kinda moved on from them.
It is a KRA59, that is for certain, probably early to mid 80s given the drawer trim.

I have a KRA59c made in 1979. Looks just like that one, except for the shiny trim on the drawer pulls. And the sway-back drawers.....

I'm trying to set something up to "efficiently" organize and tote as many tools as I can in my truck. I truly hate having to pull off of a job because I don't have a tool I need on site.
The kra60b (or similar size) would fit perfectly inside of my utility bed. (Page 61 here ) The 62 not so much (only mentioned the 62 because thats the only "used" road box I've seen in my area )
I'm not 100% sure I need a road box but if I can find a good deal I think I'd be better off with it. My 4x4 C&C Ram rides like a tank! On the other hand I have no plans to removing the box from the truck once its installed... Admittedly I'm no tool box expert.

If I was in your position and needed something soon, I'd probably just look for a used craftsman or the like top chest. Yes, you will beat it to death, but at a used price they could be considered disposable.
