Actually the only member that I remember who likes those over the pearheads (dual 80) was nissan_crawler.

Haven't you seen those Cocoa puffs commercials?
Some people go crazy for those ratchets.

Whoa, snapmom! I didn't know they made the road head with a swivel head like that! I've seen the other ones @ the flea before but never the swivel head! Are they ultra rare?

A couple of these are rare, but most are just hard to find, including the flex heads. Most have 42 teeth. Made in the late 40s thur parts of the 60s.

Do you use it for everything? I've used mine maybe once or twice. Maybe i'm just not big on those roto-swivels, but it has sat untouched in my drawer for about a month.

Yes. it is great on engine, transmission, and etc... i use it almost anything that i can do. i had to use it to pull the brackets out on F-series while pull engine out as some area that i cant use either FAR72 or Matco MT2858...

I have one older 3/8" drive that I use often. It is beat up, rusted a bit and even has a welding rod gouge on the side if the head, but it works perfect and is tough as nails. I got it free so figured what the hell, I would use it until it quits, but it won't quit.

Where've you been hiding?

Maybe i'll have to give it another chance. I need to put a hard handle on it as i don't like the soft grip. Might do that tomorrow if work's quiet..

i has older model FHF739 that i got from ebay few years ago, i had abuse it a lot and it still work strong.. but i took it to home while FHNF100 take it over and accept more worse abuses at work...

i was think about switch the head from my older one to FHNF100 but somehow i decided to stay as is... i do like hard handle than soft handle but most of time i has wet hands or dirty, soft handle work ok...

I actually used a Round Swivel Head 1/4" drive Hard Handle last weekend when I changed the Radiator on the 'Vette. I picked it up for a good price from someone in here. After using it, I actually HAD to have more. Bought the Compact 3/8" drive one, and the Long Handle 3/8" drive one too from my Snap On guy last week. He was even so cool as to "warranty" my hard handle (the chrome was peeling), and now I have a Brand new 1/4" soft grip one to match the set! My Ratchets total = 16....am I sick???

Hi there, new to this forum. I just bought a Snap-on F670A and it needs service badly. The problem is, I’m not sure how to disassemble the head. Does anyone know how and would be willing to explain the process to me. I’d really appreciate it! Thanks ~James

you need a pin spanner to unscrew the round cover plates. bicycle shops have then. you can try snap ring pliers but the tips might break off

These are hard to open. If u take out the guts it is hard to put back in. Try to oil it by letting oil soak in from the top of faceplate. If u can get it open just oil it without taking out the guts. If that does not work u can take it apart.

I have the 1/4" and 3/8" Snap-on flex round head ratchets, and I love them. They feel a bit different than a dual80 ratchet, but they are really smooth and take plenty of abuse. Another consideration for the 3/8" version is that it's a 100 tooth ratchet so the swing Arc is 3.6 degrees vs the dual80's that are 4.5 degrees. The 1/4" is a 72 tooth, so it's the same swing as a dual80 1/4". I also have the gearless 1/4" and 3/8" Snap-on round head ratchets, and those are excellent ratchets. The gearless ratchets are different, but if you can get use to not feeling and hearing the typical ratchet mechanism they you'd probably love them too.

The 100 tooth roto is my favorite ratchet. I lubed it up will Lucas engine oil additive, and it is so smooth you can barely feel it ratchet. Really fast for ratcheting fasteners off quickly,

I use a pick to take out the spring to lube it up. It is a pain to do, and well worth it.
