Anyone ever paint something to match Snap-on PPg ditzler royal blue with an off the shelf spray can. haven't headed to the store yet to look but I thought I'd ask here first. I know I could go get it color matched but I'm not looking to go thru that much trouble to try and fix up an old side cabinet to match my KRL1033.

thanks.

Doubtful. I recently had a mix made for that color. I used a single stage urethane and had very good results.

I know snap-on sells the cans for touch up but that route is a bit expensive. I'm gonna try my luck at the store I'm not gonna be terribly picky just wanted to see if anyone had any luck before. Will post my results.

Google resulted in this: "Paint code Ditzler 19026 - blue : This blue automotive paint color is most commonly known as Royal Blue. We don't have a definite year of paint use, but has been used primarily by Snap On Tools" source

"Royal Blue PCU-50134 19026" source

FWIW my local NAPA and the CarQuest a couple towns over can mix any color paint in a spray bomb to your liking.

I have the paint code on the back of my box supra. thanks though, I ended up at sherwin williams and having them color match my drawer insert. Got a quart of their oil base enamel and used a short nap roller to apply it. I had decent results in the past doing truck frames and industrial bodies with this method, plus I was doing this while at work and probably would have been shot for spraying it inside and it didn't go over 10* outside so options were limited. First impressions look pretty good. Will post some pictures after it cures and I get it hung tomorrow

Color came out pretty close. textures a bit rough but by the end of the day it had settled a bit more. For the $20 it cost me it looks %1000 better

Nope. Its an old non-roller bearing slide box. It was hanging off the side of my first tool box I bought off an old guy that was retiring when I got into the trade. Its been bumming around the shop since I took that box home years ago. I'm moving on to another shop and didnt want to leave it but it was too ugly to hang on the krl.
