are sale prices dictated by the company, or are the individual driver/salesmen
doing their own thing?

the reason i ask is, someone here mentioned a ratchet that was on sale thru
the end of the year. i had my son ask the local guy, [he stops at my son's shop once a week, so no stranger]. he said no he doesn't sell them for that price.

what gives? local market? do your own thing?

curious minds and all that.

Yup.... The driver has the power to price how he see's fit. A lot of un-advertised specials out there.

If you look at the bottom of a sale flyer...says right on it, not all franchisee's participate, yadda yadda...some participate and don't pass on the specials. Or only pass specials on to select customers, etc.

If you are a long standing cutomer or part of a big account, they can cut the price down but at their own bottom line.

As for Hot Deals and other promo's and sales, drivers have to opt in and pay for the advertising as well as buy a certain amount of each item.

Industrail price an/or BOGO or Hot Deal priceing can net you some good deals, but it's driver by driver and Hot Deals are by region.

I know my old driver was in tight with other local drivers and would often swap or buy out the deal items if he knew he could move them and did the same with items that did not sell on his route.

It's somewhat of a complicated and certainly hit-or-miss game that gets played.

I think on some of it they can buy a tool at a lower price than normal for them then sell them as a specials. Ie if the cost on a wrench is normally $25 and msrp is $40, snap on will offer to sell the dealer the wrench for $15 so he can offer it for $30 should he desire.
