Yep that's where you can find them selling for over retail pricing.

At a minimum look at what you want at SO's site so you know what actual price is before cruising ebay. SO screwdrivers (new ones) anyway are hard to find much of a deal on at ebay. Not to mention they will be warrantyless purchased from a reseller.

If you aren't a regular customer the truck guy will likely be put out to sell them to you (in my experience). It's best to get a mechanic buddy to buy them for you. :dunno:

I'm not saying you're wrong, but my snap on guy warrantied a ratchet i found in the street broken and my grandfathers 15mm chrome socket i snapped removing a caliper bolt. I also worked between two shops and one had a snap on guy, the other didn't, and he warrantied other peoples tools that i had brought over to him as well. So maybe it depends upon the snap on guy?

Before you buy off the website, try tracking down a driver. They have deals all the time and, if you have the potential to be a recurring customer, they might shoot you a deal.

I was also looking for a set of Snapon screwdrivers but had never been on a truck. I like the old hard handled versions but you can't get them on the website. One day, I stepped on a Snapon truck parked behind a car dealership. He had, sitting on the shelf, a set of new-old stock orange hard-handled screwdrivers that he sold to me for $79 which was a bargain and a price you'd never get on Ebay since people, for some reason, now see these things as collectible and charge a boatload.

When I visited the U.S. a few years back, the first thing I did was ring Snap On and find out who the local dealer was! He was as delighted to sell me some stuff as I was to buy it at about half u.k.price, at that time!

Reading this forum, some Snap On dealers are obviously wary of selling to someone who isn't 'in their area' as that's a big 'NoNo' as far as Snap On are concerned! But if you find the right dealer for the area, any 'walk in ' trade is a bonus! Call Snap On and they will probably put you in touch!

DING! DING! DING! Wrong. Depends on what color you want. I have a nice set of red hard handles that was ordered not too long ago off the web site. There is a lot of stuff available on the Snap-on web site if you know the part number(s). Do some reading and searching here on GJ and you will learn alot.

Another option is the Williams hard handles. They only come in black but are much less expensive than Snap-on hard handles and I defy anyone to show me any significant difference between Williams and Snap-on hard handles.

I have taken broken Snap On tools I bought used to the dealer down the road in my area,he is one of 2 Snap On dealers in my area left and he warranties them on the spot.I have bought from this dealer twice so far and he sends my Snap On air ratchets out for rebuilds. There were 3 Snap On dealers in my area, one decided to kill himself shooting himself in the head.My understanding was he was not well liked doing the Shelby/Hart and Muskegon,Mi area route. My brother Scott he was good to him and never had a problem with his service.
