Snap On script style socket I haven't seen before

A friend picked this one up along with a 1929 1/2" drive socket. I've never seen this type of script?

This date code is 1948.

Collecting Snap On shows this as a Ferret.

Yeah that right around the time i beleave they switched to that style socket. From the old satin sockets.

Never seen that before. Almost looks like it was engraved by someone in their garage!
