I recently purchased a set of snap-on crowfoot flare nut wrenches. Is it normal for the logos to be different?

laser etched vs. engraved

Oh hell, I'm not thrilled to see they've started laser marking like Channellock...

I've never seen different logos mixed in the same package, but looks like they've changed their method and started making up some new sets with some of each.

More curious is the fact that the stamped one in the picture isn't even the most current logo font.

We've had snap on pry bars with no logos left, and they warrantied it for us no problem, I'm sure you'll be fine with the warranty.

This *****. I hate laser engraving on guns, tools, just about everything. It seems cheap, wears off and makes id difficult later. They've been creeping this way for a while, looks like we can expect more..GRRRRRRR

God forbid, we spend alot of money on Snap on Tools and they can't even aford to stamp their name on them! Whats next? Make all SO in china to save some more money? But im sure they will lower the price because of lower production cost(yeah right)!

I had this EXACT same thing happen to me with the same set! I got them from the Snap-On website. I sent them an email telling explaining that I was a little upset that my new set didn't have matching logos and that I was not a big fan of the laser etching. They replied by mailing me out a new laser etched replacement to make a matched set and didn't say anything about the laser etching.

The stamped logo in that picture is the old script logo I didn't think they still used that?

I hope they arent going to laser etched logos, if they are going to change logos go to the old script logo.

I've seen mixxed styles of logos and differrent date codes within the same sets which came right off the tool truck. I allways assumed it was just a manufacturing thing - they made 1000 of each item at initial production, but then more of one sold so when they went to assemble sets they had to get that item from a newer production run than the rest....no big deal.....
I will admit, though, I don't care for the laser etching at all....

OP, is the one that is laser etched missing the patent #? Only reason I ask is, I decided to check the bay and ran across these.

Then I found an old set... but the tray is different?

The laser etched ones DO NOT have patent numbers on them.

The stamped one seems to have a thinner wall between the drive hole and wrench end.
