So when I was on the truck today I was lookin up and noticed what appeared to be a seam ripper for sewing. Reason I know this is because my mom did a fair amount of sewing when I was younger and I myself learned how to sew and it has helped me numerous times from being able to put a button on or whatever te case may be. Anyways I didn't ask my driver as I was running out of time. I typed it in Google and I came up with only one image and no info. So I know it was an actual seam ripper. If it is still on there next time I am going to get it for my mom so she has her very own snap on tool!! Haha

Anyone who knows the number for that would be great. I'd love to get one of those for my mom too. I got her a pro level sewing machine a couple years ago, she loves sewing and has been talking about starting a business.

That's probably the one snap on thing I might buy. If it were reasonably priced but I'm not seeing it online so I have to assume insane cost. There are some guys on here that sew, it's almost a necessity if you do everything yourself and are cheap. You ever try to patch holes in clothes with a needle and a thread vs. a machine? An hour compared to 2 minutes.

I do upholstery, I'd pay $13 for one since it's made in USA with a lifetime warranty. Thanks for posting.

EDIT, I just paid $13 and change for one, free shipping! :willy_nil

It's a wire harness ripper. I had one. It used to break real easy, after replacing it several times under warranty I finally lost it.

LOL SO is a little behind the curve on this product. Have been using a generic seam ripper
($ 3) on electrical work during restorations for the past 30 Yrs.

Yep. Kiatech is correct. I have the entire kit. I have not used it much. Use my olfa knife much more for cutting away tape and loom around wire harnesses

Yup got one my self never use it. Its intended for cutting wiring harnesses open. Most of the time i either use a knife carefully or i just unwrape the tape. Usually if im cutting a harness open im doing extensive repairs.

I'm hoping it's better than the $3 I run through so frequently...I'll be pissed if I just bought a fancy handle...

Its a seam ripper with a fancy handle. I knew what it was right away. I only have it because it came in one of my terminal tool kits.

LOL I have a couple I liberated from my wifes sewing box - she had six or more of the things. To make it look nice I modified it to fit inside a screwdriver handle: one of those clones of the old snappy style hard handle screwdrivers. When I saw the snap on one in their catalogue last year I had a laughing fit. I would not have paid $13 for one

i've broken one a few times, in fact mine is sitting on top of my box so i remember to swap it out when my driver comes thursday. one of the tools the cost is worth due to warranty exchanges, if you use it rather than a knife. i think it works better than a knife, just wish it was stronger.

It is a fancy handle on a standard seam ripper, I seriously doubt Snap-On makes the "blade".
I've bought 3 of them as gifts and had one or two replaced.
I'd buy another, they're nice and really not that expensive considering they'll replace if broken or dull

Couldn't have said it any better. It is identical to a seam ripper down to the little red *** on the end.

I think they could of designed something a little more unique that would look different...be stronger for a wire seperstor instead of stealing some old lady's sewing kit and saying...."duhhhhh hey bob let's slap a mini screwdriver handle on this thingamajig and say it's for wires"
