Does anyone happen to know how these snap on side chest mount? is it just via a lip at the top that grabs the lip of a tool chest? My chest I currently use is a Mac MB1800 which is sort of an older model. I just wanted an outside opinion as to if the side cabinets would work with my setup.
The ad is on craigslist and the person is asking for $120 for both of the snap on side cabinets. It is rather tempting.

The snap on locker has a lip, and a spot on the bottom to bolt it to the cabinet. I believe its recommended to bolt it if you plan on moving it.

It looks like your Mac has the plugs over the mounting holes. You may want to drill the snap on locker to match the plugged holes.

ahh, just bolt it on. I couldn't get any of the holes on mine to line up well, so I drilled 4 holes in it and bolted it on. I tried to use the original mounting holes on my box so it wouldn't look too bad if I removed it.

The only thing I should have done is used a bigger washer on the two top bolts. If I put too much pressure on the top of the side cabinet I can see some bending of the sheet metal, but no big deal. I'll leave heavy pumps on it with no issues.

side note - mine is a Gray Tools box I painted black. Grabbed it used with the snap on logo on it for 60$, so two for 120$ would be awesome

Yes, and that is a good deal if you don't mind the color.

looks almost exactly like my 80's Matco side box which is hanging on my 90's era Husky box. I'd jump on 2 of them for $120

Good steal at $120 for both, good storage for the money. too bad they look rattle canned/ Krylon. Thats horrible paint BUT. The one good thing about rattle can is that its easy to strip off.

Since you might get the side cabinets for a good deal, I would, if I were you, get them powdercoated to match your MAC box! It would probably cost ~ $150! Worth it though to have a nice matching setup with paint that will last forever.

ps: Take that Craftsman box off your MAC box asap! it looks bad! :)

The P/C is a great idea. It will last a long time.
