I am working on a 1978 Cadillac Commercial Chassis engine, and there is a 6 port thermal vacuum switch that I need a socket for. I searched eBay and found an S9840 1 1/4" socket. I looked at that one and realized that it will not accommodate the 6th vacuum ******, so I went to the next one on the list, an S9840A, and it has a slot on one side, and a hole on the other side for the 6th port. Then I found another, and this one ended with a B and one more that ended with a C. Herein lies the problem. Generally, the ending letter indicates a change of some sort, however, I just don't know what the difference is between the three letters. I was thinking that it might be the length of the socket but I don't know for certain. Can anyone help me sort out this problem because I only want to buy this socket once since it is going to be a one-time use?
