Snap On socket rails no longer stamped as Snap On?

of all the metal socket rails I have owned, Snap On has always been the top notch. so I decided ditch all the HF ones and ordered whole bunch from Snap On directly.

they came in before Christmas and today I opened then up, the quality still there but the "Snap On" markings are gone. matter of fact there's not any markings on them at all, why?

FYI, the old ones I have were stamped with Snap On followed by part#.

I have some older ones that are not marked "Snap-on". Bought directly off the truck by me or my father, some of which are nearly 40 years old. It may depend on the length, as many of the older short rails didn't have the name stamped.

What really pisses me off is the discontinued the longer lengths, like 24" and 32".

Smoothest rails I ever had were Ullman. Were they the originators?

they used to be a great buy and made in usa. i have some mexico ones and they are ok for now

I have older ones marker Snap-on, and newer ones that aren't. Can't tell any difference other than that though. They're still the best on the market.

the twist lock mag rails sell on a weekly basis. they are the most popular on my truck..

Hansen trays skip way too many sizes, and the other styles of rails just don't fit the bill (cost vs. number of sockets they hold, etc.).

The metal rails don't discriminate, and get the job done.

Hansen trays skip sizes? In metric, maybe in the larger seldom used 1/2" drive but not in 1/4 or 3/8 drive.

That's what I was thinking. Only one in 1/4" it doesn't cover is 16mm.
The seem pretty good and I like that I can grab the trays and throw them into my cart easy.

No solution is perfect for every guy I guess. I have some socket rail system that uses the conventional rails riveted to a metal plate with handles on the outside. It's 4 rails and works pretty good for stuff like wobble sockets and stuff I can't put on rails. I can't get into those twist rails at all.

can you keep the Hansen trays sideways in your box and still holding the sockets? no.

do Hansen trays come in short or deep sockets only? no, both short and deep sockets in one unit.

do Hansen trays standup to heat? no, they are plastic.

the list goes on.

for me, it's more of space issue. I don't have a giant tool box, all my drawers are filled even double stacked. I have 8 Hansen trays and they took a lot of my drawer space. I put some socket rails on a piece of thin aluminum, I can miss match ans squeeze more in and they don't make noise when I open/close the drawers.

I have a small Snap On top chest which I take to the race tracks. I cut the metal rails to the exact length and mis-match 1/4-3/8-1/2 drives to what I needed and it's a tight fit. all these on the aluminum is cheaper than 1 single Hansen tray.

Funny but years ago all I ever used were the rails, but I never did really like them; then one day a few years ago I found a magnetic socket system that I think is the Kat's Meow. So I guess it is up to the individual person what system they like and what they are the most comfortable with.

These were by far the best bargain form snapon. Do they have any part numbers on them? If not then bye bye warranty

craftsman's got the metal ones made in usa still, just cut the handle off
