I am in the Middle East. Today I saw a Snap-On deepwell metric socket set, PN 212SFSMY for $182.

I checked online and SO has it on their website for $227.45. So is $182 a good deal, or can you typically get stuff for cheaper off of the truck, or fleabay??

I was expecting to see a much higher premium over here due to shipping costs etc. . . .

Thanks for the advise.

Last week the pawn shop had the set for 150. It was beat to hell and I thought, "Damn he'll get it too." This week it was gone.

Buy it if you need it.

Most dealers sell for list price, which is the price that the website shows. You do not say where you saw a set for that price.

I think he is in the middle east, im guessing Iraq, etc... Why dont you run a set over to him chad and let him inspect them.

hehehe. Thanks guys. I'm in Doha, Qatar. The shop sells Hazet, Snap-On USAG, and some other random Indian brands.

I may have to go back and buy me some new sockets. . .

What do you do that you are living in Doha? I spent about 5 years working out of there, our office was downtown, and our staff house was on 'D' Ring road. I imagine I would not recognize it since I was last there in 2000, they were just ready to build the new terminal at the airport.

I'm working on a new construction petrochemical project. I live in West Bay (Doha) and travel daily to Ras Laffan Industrial City. I have been here two years, and the expansion/growth rate in that time is amazing. I'm sure there are lots of differences compared to 2000. And they are still working on the new airport. My friends tell me that every time they think they are close to finishing the new terminal, the royal family asks for something new and fancy!
