I like to wear SmartWool socks, specifically Adrenaline mini and micro crew, unless it's REALLY cold and I'm wearing boots that require the taller ones from the bottom of my dresser.

SmartWool is great, year round. Yep, wool in the winter, wool in the summer, wool is great anytime!

Oh yea, SmartWool socks (at least the new ones next to me with the tags still on 'em) are made in the USA. =)

I use REI Marino wool light hiking socks. Yeah, they're like ten bucks a pair, but they're SO worth it at the end of the day. My feet like they've been in slippers for twelve hours.

Does the wool make your skin itch? My socks are cotton ..
Not at all, and I'm very sensitive to wool. My favorite ones have 72% wool, 26% nylon, and 2% elastic.

Merkava, what's so funny - that's what they're called.

SmartWool Link

I usually buy them from Timberland.com, Backcountry.com, or Campmor.com.

Seriously, they're super comfy and don't stink, even after wearing them a few days in a row. I bought a pair for my wife, and after wearing in a few times she had me order four more pairs.

It's all my cousin's fault. About six years ago, she bought be some heavy duty wool socks as a winter holiday gift.

Looking over the tags again, it says made in USA of USA and imported yarn, logical since the merino wool comes from New Zealand.

Why is Snap on putting their name on a Harbor freight type of sock? Wool socks are 100 times better and last much longer. Up until about 6 years ago I still had a few pairs from my time in the military.

It became a habit, I mean, if they're not dirty and don't smell, why not wear them some more! That, and sometimes I'm in a real hurry to get out of the apartment so rather than run to my dresser, I pick up the socks that were docked near my shoes from the afternoon before.

I'm slowly breaking the habit, but it's hard. I guess it has something to do with when I only had a few pairs of these socks and hated wearing anything else. It was hard to justify more than a few pairs of SW socks at $12-$16 per pair at the time.

Too serious? First I'm cranky, and now I'm serious!! :shocking::shocking:

In the grand (financial) scheme of things, I'm always surprised how some people (myself sometimes included) won't spend on important things that can make a difference. Good socks might be the most noticeable compared to (the small extra) cost. I'd toss underwear in there too, comparing the difference of something in a decent fitting soft fabric versus some cheap, rough, ill fitting poly.

The big one is a good mattress. What a difference it can make. You're on it for a third of your life after all.

Look at it this way...with Kevlar in the socks your toe won't wear a hole in them, so you can now go months without ever trimming your toenails:lol_hitti

I agree on both points. I don't get too crazy with the socks but my boots are exactly what I like and our bed is what we wanted.

I am going to put these socks on my xmas list from my best santa - Me :D.

**screw it for the price I will try 4 pairs**

The SO socks are super comfy, but being so thick and cushy,if you normally wear thin socks, these may make the fit too tight. They are pretty hot in the summer, though.
I have a new pair of shoes that have a sloppy fit,but with the SO socks, they fit just right. My SO guy gives his cusomers a pair for christmas every year, also.

Sock's??? Thought Y'all was talkin bout sockets I must be in wrong thread..What Tools do I need too install "socks"
Tin snips or utility scissors to remove the packaging, industrial strength hand cleaner to get rid of grease before touching the socks, a leatherman multitool to clip off any of those nylon tag things, and then a worktable to lay the socks on for when you take a photo to post to garage journal. Duh!

I wear them almost every day. I really like them. Saw one of my buddys who used to be a snap on dealer wearing them and I thought he was nuts.....Until I tried a pair.

The title of this thread got me thinking. Doesn't anyone else find it amusing that Snap-On has to try and convince us of the value of buying their overpriced tools right in their tag line?

There is a difference.............Really.................You Just Have to Look Real Hard........They're Worth It.........Honestly.........:lol_hitti
