Anyone here use the Solus Pro? I was thinking of getting one. How easy is the Solus to use? How much for upgrades?

I really like the Solus Pro, but I think tha the Solus Ultra is a lot easier to use!
About the upgrades I can´t remember but they´re a bit pricey here in Sweden, well worth it thou.

i've got a solus pro and i find it pretty easy to use, the ultra is faster loading and has a touch screen but the software coverage is still the same. The other nice feature is that it no longer needs personality keys so you never have to change keys every time you access control modules.
As for upgrades i don't know what they are priced at in the us but they are not cheap over here in the uk

i have the solus and the vantage pro.the solus is very user friendly and comes with a training dvd and access to the training website that snappy has.it is a very powerful tool and is great forbi-directional testing and also graphs.i got mine with the 10.2 and then purchased euro and asian.how ofteen you update is really dependent on what you work on.me,i'm an indy shop and most of my work is done on cars between 4-8 years old so i don;t need to update very often at all.and you are able to do a lot of functions on newer cars under the global platform, i would highly recomend it.

I have the Solus Ultra and the no key factor is VERY nice. I wouldn't mess with a pro unless it's super cheap. If you're in the market for a pro the ultra isn't much more. Look out for deals too. I got mine on promo with the free european package. At the time I didn't think I needed it but I ended up doing rear brakes on a VW and I was the only guy in the shop that could do it because I had the software.
Anyway I'm a big fan of the tool. It's really nice!

You have to be a busy shop to make it worth it. The updates is like about $1k/year.

I upgraded once and it was $500..

That VW brake job at the dealer would have been easily $300-400 dollars. Just 2 of those would pay for the upgrade. I work at a dealer and we have OEM scan tools and I use the Solus most of the time unless it's warranty. The tool is much faster and doesn't "lock out" for data collection for the EPA like the OEM scan tools do.

I work mainly on Asian the most and Domestic. But I heard the asian coverage isn't good on the S. Pro. Any insight before I pull the trigger? The reason why I want a Pro is because I don't want to spend anymore than $1000. Also, I never had a snap on scanner before so how does the update works?
