I just called the customer service to order the ball retaining tool to repair some old ratchet I have and I was told that it is a restricted tool and only dealers can order those...anybody else had the same issue? It is no longer available on the online catalog.
Does somebody has an extra one I can buy off of them? thanks!

the solution is to either have the truck guy order one for yourself? What if he says NO ?
I wonder if you can fabricate one having the measurements.

$6 and $10? The thing use to be like $1. You can modify a piece of shim stock to do the same thing.

The tool is no longer sold as repair kits have changed and replaced the separate ball and spring to a one piece design that is much easier to work with. If you are rebuilding a ratchet, call up Snap On and ask for a few repair kits instead of fighting the old design without the tool.

They use to be .89 cents with free shipping . That's when I got mine 2 years ago

Then pieces of **** started buying them and reselling them on eBay. One thing I like about Snap-on is they shut that kind of nonsense down. If you have a receipt for a 36 tooth ratchet they will send you a repair kit and the tool.
