Snap-on SSDP-216 No2 Phillips?

I am looking for any information on the #2 Phillips Snap-on screwdriver # SSDP-216.
The shaft is 16 inches long with an OD of only .180”.
This screwdriver fits consumer electronics screws better than any other screwdriver I have.

How old is the screwdriver and does SO still sell a #2 Phillips with a .180” OD shaft?

with that handle it is a few years back for sure. \
I love that screwdriver. hard hard hard to find. i still have a good amount of the blades and keep them for warranty purposes. you can actually bend the blade to make it fit where you want.
they still make the sdm222cz which has the same tip. it fits real good on number 2 phillips screws that have a deep cut in the head.
They quit carrying it back in 2002 I think....
keep it and do not let anyone ever use that thing,

It should have a date code on it or the shank. I have an older scripted torx T15 with that style lettering and handle. My date code shows it as a 1979 which makes it as old as me. In my work box and ready to work still.

I was given the screwdriver about 7 years ago because the owners SO man could not warranty the bent shaft. After working on it with a small brass hammer I made the shaft true enough to use but the tip is just about worn out.

Did SO ever make a shorter version of this screwdriver?

I would like to find another screwdriver like this with the .080” OD shaft but with a 6” long blade.

I think i may have a spare shaft that size, i'll look later. No handle on it though. They also made shorter ones with the same tip, i'll get those part numbers too.

I have never seen any other length but this. It was in the 700 or 800 catalog under misc or other screwdrivers.

I just looked, I have two softgrips like that, but the shank is .189

is the number one soft grip that dimension? this set up only came in the hard handle, unless you or your dealer made it for you.

i just found a ssdp216 and was wondering about the 16 inch length. was it made for a specific job?
