Snap On Stationary Storage

I'm looking to do some built in cabinets, tool drawers, and work bench in a residential garage. I have no need for rollers. I see that Snap On has stationary storage cabinets that would work for this. I'm a Snap On newbie. The part numbers for the stationary storage are "KRS." Which line of cabinets is this? Is it KRL with a fixed base? I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.

There would be some suggestions for stationary cabinets other than snap on. Lista is a brand that is worth some serious consideration ...

In the same boat as you..

You got it...KRS is really just a KRL with "Caster Delete" and the stationary base...if you find a smoking deal on a KRL, the stationary bases are also available separately allowing you convert your KRL to a KRS

Personally, if you want stationary storage its a great solution.

I have been wanting to ditch the casters off of my KRL722 as well, I want to fabricate up a hybrid base so I can grab it with my pallet jack and move the cabinet IF needed. Just one of those projects I cant seem to get to.

The part numbers listed in the catalog for the stationary storage come up when you search on the web site but it doesn't have any info.

For instance, the triple cab, is listed as KRS7023 for $6,690:

I would definitely check Lista, and you may want to to checkout Sonic tools USA. I saw these guys and their products at Daytona this past weekend. Great tools, and their boxes seem to be built really really well. They are out of Auburn Alabama. http://www.sonictoolsusa.com/

My vote is on Stor-Loc. You get so much more for the money. More box, more strength, more options, more everything.

Each of these were around $3000 brand new. They offer stationary base options too. You can choose drawer layout and sizes, riser height, everything. They told me that the catalogue is just a guide, if you want it taller, shorter, shallower, anything, it's done at no additional cost (within reason). 400lbs per drawer means you can use it as a ladder, which I do at work. I had a Snap-On box once, I've been ruined by Stor-Loc, I'll never buy another box.

storloc just sent me their 2016 flyer because I am thinking about buying one. their drawers hold 400#s each, the box itself can handle 25,000#s and they make stationary storage. a 14 foot with stainless top is only like $11,000. A snap-on box that size would only be a 12 foot and its $23,000 and it will only hold 200#s per drawer.

Not practical at all for majority, especially when it comes to move them. Plus the used market for them is almost nonexistent outside of industrial auctions and the like.

All Stor-Loc boxes have forklift channel steel. Most impressive thing was when I saw them loading one of their 14 ft boxes with a forklift. Didn't notice any bending or distortion and the drawers still rolled freely.
