Snap On student price list

I sorry if this been gone over before, and yes I used search, but does anybody have access or now where to look up Snap On student pricing. My Snap On guy doesn't deal with with the program at all.

I teach high school here in Pa, mainly construction and CNC technology. I was on the Matco site and they list students pricing and even extend that price to instructors to use at school or even at home. I am going to buy some more tools for the shop for machine repair and setup, I have really great kids who take care off stuff and right now we mainly use SK. I would rather buy Snap On for the shop and for me at home, this would add on to what I accumulated when I worked for John Deere.

Call snapon corporate. They have a student site, but you have to have a login.

SO's student program *****. you need to get a hold of the industrial rep and get the quote on individual items, no like Matco.

go to snapon.com and type in student in the search box. Only a limitied amount of snap on tools are available at discount unlike matco where the whole catolog is discounted to you. Snap on sells sets of stuff at student discount price. very few single items. thats 1 reason most of my stuff i buy is matco.

Thanks for all the replies, I did notice that Snap On didn't have much in the way of single items. I was excited about being able to buy stuff for myself at the discount. I told one of the other teachers, who used to work on commercial trucks and has a lot of Snap On and Matco from back in the day he already started to make a list.

Does any one have a suggestion on a Matco Tap and Die set, thats both SAE and Metric, I talked to the Matco rep and she said they will warranty even Tap/Die sets. Sometimes kids get a little aggressive.

Get a hold of a Snap-on industrial rep that is who you need to be going through, I believe once they set you up and verify your program meets their requirements you can order almost anything discounted not just the things under the student discount.

I don't see why so many people have a hard time navigating the SO student website.

Our SO guy came last semester, gave us the sales pitch and registered all of us as students.

I went home, and later that night, I was ordering all my stuff online. I have never seen my SO rep since.

To find individual tools (like ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers), go to the "Supplemental tools" link on the left after you log in.

Alot of the SO stuff I order is the same price, if not cheaper than Matco.

What im talking about is ordering anything. i dont see why they dont just let you go through the whole catalog. its way to much trouble expecially if you already have alot of tools and are looking for little things...you better hope its on the student list

Did you even read my response, If its too much trouble to send a few emails, then buy something else. They dont have to offer a discount at all, I for one am glad that they do and enjoy the benefits of the program. While I agree the Matco site is set up better, I prefer Snap-On and have no problem sending an email.....

yea i just dont like it at all. im still waiting on 2 snap on hammers because those few e-mails. one of the reasons i wont buy snap on unless there the only company that offers what i need. the discount is nice but not worth the hassle

What do you mean, "im still waiting on 2 snap on hammers because those few e-mails.", either the order is placed or it isn't and either the product is available to ship or it isn't. All of these questions can be answered by placing a simple phone call if email is not your thing. On anything I have ever ordered that wasn't in stock at that time, they have always been able to tell me when it would ship.

I do not like the changes that Matco made to their tap & die sets recently. One thing I hate is that they started printing the sizes on them instead of having it stamped in. You can barely read this when it's brand new. And the Snap-on sets are no better; the taps break way too easily. Still, the most important consideration is getting a set where you can get replacements easily, whether free or not. I love my 25 year old Craftsman sets; much higher quality taps, and everything stamped in, including "use drill size **/**". Replacements are free, but now new Craftsman are **** too. Fortunately, these don't break easily....I have not needed to replace one in many years.

There are some threads here about Tap & Die sets...do some searching, but I'd pass on new Matco, Snap-on or Craftsman. If you can find older sets of these on eBay, they are great, but any replacements will be ****. Maybe if you start with one of these older sets, and buy high quality replacements individually as you break items, that would be a good compromise; a full set of high quality taps & dies will cost a fortune. And dies almost never break.

This got off topic quite quick. For the OP I have a stapled list from my school that has a bunch of stuff and lists the student discount but does not have every little thing. Not sure what you're looking for

Thanks for all the replies, as for the Tap and Die sets I really cant buy anything used for school off ebay and get reimbursed, I am a definite bargain hunter and as always try to stretch my budget as far as it can go. I also sent Snap On an email to get the process started. Thanks every one for you input.

I should have said "not all" the tool boxes. also Snap On has a cap on how much you can buy each year, I think is $5500.
