I just put in the order for a set of these, to be picked up on Friday:

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...76145&group_ID=19840&store=canada&dir=catalog

Now, he said $99.95 plus tax (which is 14% in Canada), which is what it says on the website. I was told by a few guys on here that they jack their prices up big time on the internet, therefore you should never buy from them online. I don't really have a problem paying this much because I know the dealers don't make a lot of money, but am I being ripped off?

They're tough. Mine are Matcos, grabbed them on sale last week for $50.

I was borrowing a snappy T-handle on the rare occasions I needed one. They're very high quality. Duh. :D

The website and the truck are usually close price wise. The website has free shipping form time to time also. I get the paper price guide every year and the website is the same as the paper price sheet.

If you havent bought alot from your driver, or he doesnt see you as a potentially big customer, then It doesnt really make sense for him to pass up a chance at making a few $$ and not cutting you a deal.

My snap on guy gives me great deals, Ive spent a good amount with him. The Matco Guy doesnt cut anybody deals. What you see in the website is what you pay, aside from knocking off tax and roudning down if you pay cash up front. Thats just the way they operate. Interestingly enough, the Matco guy is alot more successful.

Yeah, I have dealt with other Snap-On guys before, and after a few purchases they will give me deals or even allow me to pay them the next time I see them. I just thought the actual dealer list price was lower, that's all. Thanks.

Jim, I'd be willing to bet your Matco guy is successful because of the perception that Snap-On costs more. In reality, on most hand tools and sockets, etc... Matco and Snap on are within $10 of each other.

My Matco man is more willing to haggle down than my Snappy one. :0
