hey just picked up the snap on 76pc tap and die set for a good price its a older set but it looks to be the same case as the new ones.
now my question is does your guys case hold the bits in place as when i pick the case up by handle and tip it vertical all the pieces just go everywhere and you can guess how annoying that it having to reorganize them if i get a new case off my snapon guy will it solve this issue or are they all like this

I can't answer your question reference SO, however the same happened to me with a set of Miller Falls tap and die. You shouldn't have to go out of your way for the ill-designed works of another, but i just found a thin rubber mat to take up the gap between the case and the tools.

But hopefully there is a better case for you.

I did something similar to Jim with a socket case, cut a piece of the roll type packing foam and placed it in the case when closing it, kept things in place.

My box has a big piece of foam in there. Keeps em from rolling around or moving out of place.

A new case won't solve the issue. As mentioned, those sets (mine included) came with a foam pad that everybody seems to throw away to hold things in place. This will solve your problem. The one that came with mine was dark gray foam about 1/4" thick and covered the whole set.

I use a couple red rags inmost cases, sometimes i have to put two in. They work well and are in a great spot when you need them.
