I was looking at the snap on tire guage number YA206. It comes in a gift box. My dad is always complaining that he cannot get consistant pressure readings on his tire guage and I thought I would get him a good one for Christmas. Is? this a good one. Do you guys know who makes this?

The other problem I have is that it always shows out of stock in the online catalogue. Pedro, can you let me know if you can get this?

Thanks

I have this deal, and love it. It's made by CH available at Wally World.

snap on's is made by amflo IIRC.......no sense paying that price for something you can get for less somewhere else, unless you just like the plating and the box. i think i'd go with milton.

What a timely subject as Elroy picked up this brass made is the USA Milton just a few hours ago. Can't beat it for $5.49

However Elroy will typically reach for this one first

The electronic digital type gauges are also good. See no reason to spend $50 to $100 on a gauge. Some people might but Elroy doesn't

I have the Northern Tool version of the same thing. It is nice but the scale on the gauge goes too high for tires. I have been meaning to find a better gauge.

In kart racing, where half a pound can make a huge difference (PSI range is 13-18 or so), you will find very few racers that don't use a Longacre Gauge.

to be honest our stuff is nice, in my time as a dealer I've yet to warranted any of them, minus the one with a built in chuck. We had a bad batch about 8/9mo ago but they are golden now....

I haven't seen anything new that can go over 150psi but i will keep an eye out for it

I thought I saw one thing in your catalog that went up to 160 psi.

PS. I'm one town over from your route. Do you ever drive on the 110 fwy? There was an SO guy (not the regular guy) who was riding around the harbor. I wondered if that was Pedro since you do Wilmington.

I second the Longacre recommendation. THey have a wide assortment of gauges, all of which are very high quality. I just picked up one of their digital gauges, a 0-150 model with a really nice angle chuck. It's one of the nicest tools I have...it's very solid and very well engineered, and obviously a lot of care went into its manufacture. In addition, all of the folks are Longacre that I've spoken to are super knowledgeable and friendly -- true enthusiasts.

Years ago I bought generic pressure gauge at a welding supply and put a chuck on the input for a total cost of less than $10. Friend of mine just bought the Snapon for like $50, and the Longacre is $70+, seems a bit pricey for what it is.

I like the Milton air gauges too. They make quality tools.

Really? I have NEVER seen an accurate/reliable milton stick tire pressure gauge

I have one of those, but mine has a metal gauge... checks out with my accugage. Not a bad unit, except I do not like that particular gauge- the plastic can be brittle.

Most people would be fine with a gauge that only reads, FLAT, OK, and BOOM.

I like all my gauges, welding, stick, and a Porsche gauge I found in one of my cars. The main consideration seems to be to have enough of them around so that tires get checked, and that they are fairly easy to use. People with special needs maybe need something fancier.
