Hi,
Recently inherited a k 55w tool box. A few dents and dings, some rust (not through) and I am trying to decide whether to clean it and leave petina or take it apart and sandblast/powder coat. Will post pictures soon, but any advice would be great. Also, the lock does not have a key unfortunately, any ideas where I might be able to get a replacement lock?

I’d clean it gently but thoroughly, inside and out. You can take some WD40 ( Gibbs is excellent because it neutralizes rust, doesn’t hurt metal and will revitalize your vintage paint) and work on those rust spots with some white scotch brite ( or 0000 steel wool) very gently-

Then try hand polishing with a gentle compound or cleaner wax/if it’s a family piece, you might want to leave it be after you clean it.

Once you do the above, see how she looks and reevaluate from there. Going the strip and powder route is a ton of work.
