Ok. So. I currently own/am happy with my bluepoint 4 drawer rollcart. My local snap on rep has been trying to push me to buy a classic 78 series. It was an enticing deal with $1500 in free tools. I stupidly fell for it. I opened the credit account and everything. I felt sick the entire time. I like my roll cart for what i do. (general service work oil changes, brake jobs, alignments) but im moving to the heavy diesel side of things. The shop im going to dosnt have room for this new toolbox. As far as i know the thing hasnt been delivered yet. Is there any way for him to close the account and take the box back if its been delivered yet? Thanks. God Bless.

No idea if you can close the account but just for fun why not post the box on craigslist for what you paid for it. If you can sell it for what you paid or close you can get some tools out of the deal.

Just FYI, this is an Internet forum not Snap-on customer service.

You would be best suited to call your rep and ask this question instead of here.

If you signed up for credit and bought the box I think its yours now.

Only if he's already making payments I believe. I know if I order one it takes 3 months before I have to pay

That being said, I would stick with it. A roll cart won't get you far in the diesel world. Make room for it at the shop. My last shop didn't have room but I made room lol

I was a trucker for many years and been to hundreds of diesel truck shops around the country for oil changes brakes tires ect. ect. Those shops were huge and had plenty of room for toolboxes and more.. This shop you are going to must be real small. Get the box put it on CL and you will sell it for that amount just because its Snap-On and you will find another sucker to buy it.. Lol Keep the tools and your Chinese Blue Point and be merry...

simple, its not yours until you take delivery, you can cancel the order he wont be happy but you can cancel it, Laws vary by state but that how it is in michigan. Until you have the box your contract with snap on isnt binding wither. also what kinda diesel shop cant fit a small 2bay box?

pushed into, feel sick, don't want = cancel the order.

Free tools?? no way..
Inflated tool and box prices to start.
If they can "throw in" $1500 """worth""" of "free" tools with a tool box ?? and weekly payments with a interest rate of ____?
Try asking the dealer to simply reduce the price of the tool box "sale" price by $1500 and listen to his response....

I have a gut feeling that You made an impulse buy...,,,,, and Your best interest would be to cancel it.

It is not rightfully his till he has paid for it.. Myself, I certainly would not buy an unpaid for tool box on Craigslist.............. Unless; I had an agreement with the dealer to transfer the contract to my name; or purchase the box for an agreed upon price from the dealer.

I'd say keep it. People need to be responsible for their actions. Maybe looking at the "impulse buy" lesson for a while will help the OP keep his wits about him the next time he's tempted by some "deal". I think we all feel a bit light headed the first time we get into a financial contract to make payments for whatever - a box, a car, a house -- just make the payments and move on.

I also don't get so many bashing a deal like this when I'd bet you they own / make payments on something of similar cost / perceived frivolity......

Get the box delivered to the shop and if they don't want it there, take it home and keep it ready for the next job which you will likely need the storage space as the tool collection grows along with experience / ability and you move on anyway.

He likely paid list which is $4500, not $1500. It won't sell for anywhere near even $3000. :(

According to my local CLs (major cities, mind you) and my own personal opinion of those boxes, it definitely will not sell for anything close to $3000. At least not quickly!

I say back out of it.

The classic series boxes are decent buys for students in the SEP program (and the box also comes with a certificate to get the full retail price out of it when you trade up in that program). Outside of that you might as well step up to a Masters for the money. Private party sale= you will lose your *** if you paid the full retail price for it.

And if your shop doesn't have room for a Classic 78 life is going to **** for you, both box wise and working room wise. In the diesel world, you need a good size box and you are going to acquire plenty of tools to fill it.

An extremely beta male ordered a tool box from my snap-on guy. Once he delivered it, the beta males alpha wife was there and threw a fit. The guy asked the dealer to take it back and the dealer did, so I'd think you have a great chance. I agree with the other guys though personally, keep it until you have room for it, make room, or just enjoy it at home, but I know sometimes that's easier said than done.

Alright. Well. I called the guy and told him what's up. I Can't fit it in the shop and I don't wanna be presumptuous by asking them to make room for it. And I'll have less hours soon since I will be going to school so I can't waste my check on the toolbox. He said that he contract is signed and it's a done deal. I told him that won't do. So he called me back and said he had an idea. A 2000$ newer bigger rollcart with more room but not much bigger than mine now and the rest of the contract is going to be tool credit...... I'm still not sure of this. I will probably tell the guy to not even take it off the truck and take it far away from me. Or just take the name patch off my shirt and pretend to not speak English...

This would probably happen much more often if they had hot women as the ones on the trucks instead of dudes. :D

Only advice I have to this is if you get a discount for being a student take the roll cart and tool deal and run with it.1500 won't get u much as a normal working person with the truck I own 2000.00 worth of snap on stuff at the moment not including my box I've bought this over the last 90 days and It wouldn't even fill a drawer in my small 40" wide box

If you haven't accepted delivery, cancel the order, end of story. You have the right to change your mind, wit is the law in most if not all states. Sounds like you have a pushy salesman trying to get you in over your head. Call corporate if you have to.
