I am looking into buying a larger tool box and saw one for sale locally, but am trying to find out more detailed information about it. It is a 12 drawer measuring 54x29x41. It has a model number of SM9962PC, but i cant find any information about it. It looks to be somewhat newer from the photos, but a google search of the model number and looking on snap-ons website show nothing. I am curious of its load capacity and if it has bearing sliders. Thanks

As far as i can tell thats a KRL7002.

Pretty simple way to figure it out.

First digit 1 or 7, 1 45" tall, 7 41" tall
Second digit 0 29" deep no digit 25" deep
Third digit 0 1 full width draw, 2 2 full width draws
Fourth digit number of bays 2 2 bay

IE krl722 vs 7022 vs 1022 for the current models, most likely 702 7002 and 1002's were produced in the past, not 100% on that though.

Or the fact that i just realized there is a pic with the model number right on it and i am an idiot.

yup 7002 for sure. it was a remote patrol box. it had the keyless entry with an alarm on it. didnt go over too well. looks like a 2000 or a 1999 model.

As you guys stated it does seem to look very similar to the KRL7002, and it does say 7002 on the label. But I am still a little curious why they put the model number as something totally different.

Thanks for your help

So I purchased the box, and I feel like it was a good deal at $1525 and it was 15 minutes away from my house.

Now I have a couple questions. How much does it cost to get a regular key made for it? And am I still able to get the keyless unit?

Other quick question. Is there any type of maintenance items to do on these boxes? Like lubricating the drawer slides? If so, what is the best lubricate to use and such?

Thanks
