Snap On Tool Box Side Cabinets question

I have a KRL Roll Cab and top Box.

I am thinking about getting the side Cabinets.

How do they attach? I only see two holes in my Roll cab for the grab handle.

How do you move the box now that it has no handle on it?

Are those two holes enough to mount these cabinets?

I have this same toolbox minus the cabinets:

The side cabinet has a rolled edge or hook if you will to hang off the top lip of the roll cab or top chest. All the weight is supported by that top lip. The mounting holes for the side handle are only their to keep the side cabinet from swinging out.

So to install these, the Top box has to come off? Then just "lip" onto the roll cab top?

Then do they also secure with bolts through the handle holes or no?

It seems without the handle anymore that you would have some issues if you had to move the box much?

So you post a picture of a box you don't have, with lockers you don't have, asking how to attach end cabinets? Your picture has lockers. Not cabinets...cabinets have drawers and hang on the side in the same fashion. You can't stack a cabinet on a locker or locker on a cabinet unless it's an epic that doesn't use the hook attachment.

There is an upside down J hook on both sides of both lockers and end cabinets that fit onto the lip of your bottom chest.

You don't have to remove your top box. There is clearance.

You can't add two cabinets to one side because both cabinets/end cabs will have the male J hook protruding. Two males don't make a right.

Ahhhh, what's your malfunction?

I made a very clear statement above, you should check your reading comprehension.

Cabinets? Lockers, I don't know what the Official snap on designation is. I called them cabinets, sorry if that inflamed your nether regions.

As I stated above, I have the exact same Camaro Anniversary Roll Cab and top box and I am interested in how the Lockers/cabinets attach in the picture and how I would live with that combo.

It just hooks on to the roller cabnet top lip. I didn't use the bolt holes, I just think the holes are just to secure it, but it will never fall off.

I put the side locker on with the top box on, hard to do, its heavy and a risk of scratching it. I'd take the top box off next time.

In your picture, the side locker is hanging from the top box, then you open the door to go in there to install the bolts to the lower roll cab. The side locker should have a handle mount of its own for you to mount the handle on.

Thanx for that info. I did find a pic that shows that Lip area. Amazing it comes to only that bit to hold it on. I realize it's probably doubled and reinforced.

You have one "Locker", learned a new word today.... If you had both Lockers on and no handle with a Full Box, you think it's OK to try and move the box around by grabbing the Locker?

I see those holes on the side.

Here's another pic of the side

I don't think it will move easily by grabbing the locker. Nothing really to hold on to. Probably need at least 2 people. Then I would bolt them on.

With my setup, single locker, there's no way it will move without a grab handle with 1 person.
I have to pull/push it with all my weight just to get it to move, but once it starts moving, I can easily keep it rolling with one hand. The greasable casters really help.

Don't know if the holes in the locker are reinforced for a grab handle. If you put a handle on it, I'd definitely would not pull on it, but maybe pushing it is ok?

That side locker there doesn't have a handle mount. Those holes on the side are thru-holes for mounting the side cabinet to the handle mount of the roll cab. I guess Snap-on doesn't put handle mounts on their side lockers. I've seen them on other boxes and it might have been Matco.

You are thinking of matco boxes. Their lockers do hang from the top box. SO lockers hang from the roll cab just like a normal side box.

SO lockers bolt to the roll cab, they have 4 bolts where they bolt at the handle mounts, you can usually mount the handle on to the locker, if you have a hutch they mount by two holes into the hutch, with just bolts and nuts, and there is usually 2 holes at the bottom of the locker to bolt to the bottom of the cab, thats how my locker mounted to my epiq

If you put the handle on the Locker, it is stiff enough to move the box around?

I just put a strap all the way around both and tightened the strap just enough the locker didn't touch the box and jacked the locker up to the right height tightened the strap to push the j hook into the gap and slowly let the locker down the 3/8" .
Takes 5-10 minutes.
I'm not going to tell you how long it took for me to learn that trick.
