Have no idea but based on pic I'd buy it for $900. Seems like a fair price for four Snap On boxes. Looks like it may have been repainted. IMO a great deal would be $250 each for bottom cab and top box, maybe $150 for middle and $75 for side cabinet, so $725 or so. Anything between $725 and asking price seems pretty reasonable for those boxes. You could probably turn around and sell them on ebay for a lot more. Good luck.

BTW, you could sell those old Snap On emblems for about $50 each if you wanted to and replace them with the new style for about $15 each, LOL... Just saying.

Depending on what condition the slides are in....
It's not a "you ****" kinda deal but I think it's a fair price.

He says it is near perfect and I would likely resell the box to pay for the tools I will but that are in the box...

He wants the whole thing gone and wants to sell all the tools too (he mentioned "10 cents on the dollar"--which might work for me). Being able to see the box and pay for the tools would be my goal here...

actually, I might be willing to do that just to get some of the money back for the tools I want to buy that are currently in the box...

kr537 top, kr547 middle, kr557 bottom, unsure of the side. late 1970's vintage. here:

http://www.collectingsnapon.com/catalogs/catalogs.php?catalogPage=4912

is a catalog page from 1980 showing the stack, use the search button at the top of the page to get access to other images using the model numbers. notice in 1980, there was a substantial amount of chrome on it. about the only parts still available for it are the drawer slides and the locks (the fancy new tumbler locks should still work, they did in my 1979 vintage kr550/555 boxes).

i love the ones i have, and this one looks pretty nice to me. 900$ is not unreasonable, but worth is really up to you. it would be worth it to me, if that helps you any.

That's a nice setup. It's three boxes combined plus side cabinet. Since looking around for one myself I like a two box set with side cabinet. Bigger bottom box. I think you could get it for less.

If it's the box in the pic for $900 I wouldn't have hesitated to buy it. I'd of tried to save a couple bucks and offered him 8 but I would've given him the $900 lol.

That has to have been repainted, no? At that price, you're halfway to a used KRL series, depending on your location. Something to consider.

without the side box, that set has over 7600 square inches of space.

a KRL7022CPJH (54" wide) has 8300, although it is only a rolling box.

depending on your use, one is definitely better than the other. which is which is something altogether different.

If the slides are in good condition, I'd buy it. For comparison that's in the ballpark of a Harbor Freight 44' top and bottom box with side box. You're likely looking at a similar volume of storage, but with a more efficient drawer layout for thinner automotive tools and of course it's going to retain the resell value as a SnapOn brand rather than loosing resell value as US General if a family member doesn't need it or you outgrow it.

If it's $900 with the tools that could be a bargain

If it's $900 for the box alone then to me that's close to top dollar, but if you want one then it's ok.
$900 is what I might try to sell it for but $750 is closer to what it would actually sell for

Deffo been painted, but hey 900 dollars i think is a fair price thats about 750 gbp at the mo which i think is quite fair.
I had a freind with this set up and he would never part with it. I kept on at him for years even after he upgraded this kit jus sat in a corner collecting dust, probably still there today, perhaps i should pay him a visit

You say the drawer slides are available from Snap On? Do you have a part #?I can get a deal on a KR537 that needs slides for one of the lower drawers and new paint.I have owned a KR557 for many years but never had a top box to go with it

Good looking box for sure. $900 is what it is worth. Be tough to make money on it IMO as those boxes are not what most folks are looking for.

Box sales have been very slow for me lately.

The side box if separated has a nice value
I recently sold an 8 drawer side toolbox Snap On KR 288 for $350. YMMV

I have that same 4 box set. Original paint, PO babied it.

I'm 5'8" and the very top is hard for me to see into.

Friction sliders that work well, just clean and white grease.

It's a great set up and a fair price.

Thanks folks--I may buy it and sell the boxes separately to pay for the tools (they are being sold extra)...

You all sure know a lot about these boxes--great info!

Ended up buying a large (for me) lot of Snap On hand tools. I got a great deal too. Under $300...

I HIGHLY doubt that is the original paint. Notice how there are dents that don't have the paint scratched off?

$800-900 is absolute top dollar for the boxes, if they are really in great condition. One could get more useful tool storage for the money, but for a collector or very seldom user...Many of the friction slides are NLA from snap on so you are SOL when you need new slides.

I passed on the box for now but will offer a lot less if it is still available in a few days.

The box has original paint and there are multiple touch ups on the drawers. Nothing serious but there are probably 15 spots he touched up where it apparently got nicked and scratched. It is very tall--about 6'.

Sorry about those who doubt the original paint claim--the picture is better than in person, but it is still very nice.

Good price on the tools.

I can believe that the box has original paint.

I picked-up this set plus the side cabinet, about 7 years ago.

Other than a few stickers I removed, it was/is in excellent condition.
