I'm looking to get either the snap-on classic 78 which is a 54" wide 24" deep roll cab or the new snap-on SS which has the same demensions. the difference is the SS has 2 full width drawers and the classic 78 has one. instead of the 2nd full width drawer it has 2 smaller drawers so it has 11 drawers intead of 10 like the SS. my question is how much do you guys like full width drawers? are they worth it? I'm a diesel mechanic so i have some bigger tools. I would put my wrenches in that second full width drawer but I don't think it will fill it then I will have extra room and I don't like mixing my tools with other kinds of tools so I feel like those two smaller drawers might be better. Tell me your thoughts on what you would get

If I was going to get a double bank, I would get one with 2 full width drawers.

I'm pretty sure they brought the SS out because two full width drawers are very popular, but before, you could only get that in the masters series. (Which doesn't have a popular price tag to some people)

It mainly comes down to how you want to lay your tools out though. Do you think you have all the wrenches you need? If you had the extra room after filling that second drawer, that would be a pretty good reason to buy some more wrenches.

I love my SS, though i wish the second drawer were taller. I cant stand wrenches bigger than 1 1/4 up in racks. Overall I am pleased, just wish i would have gone bigger right away.

Personally for me, the SS does not have enough deep drawers for me. The fuller my box gets, the more useles I find 2" drawers. I have gone on record before as the one person here who does not like the 2 top drawer set up. I have a 1022, wish I would have bought a 1001.

I'm partial to 2 full length drawers but I know a few guys that don't like any. I say figure out how you want to store your tools and base your decision on that. My top drawer is all my ratchets, extensions and sockets and the second one has longer items like prybars. you mention wrenches. I keep mine in a medium width drawer and it fits them fine. All depends on how many wrenches you have or will have in the future.

I would prefer the 2422 which is pretty much a cheaper KRL722 (2 wide drawers, not all have the SS emblem on them) over the 2411 (1 single wide drawer).

Just got this one two weeks ago.. I do wished the second drawer was as deep as the first. But still glad it had two wide drawers. Somehow you always find a way to put everything in order..

I'd definitely rather have 2 full-widths. Granted, my current box is 40" and the wide drawers are ~26", but my regular wrenches and Gearwrenches take up pretty much all the drawer, even with one regular and one backwards rack. Forget fitting crowsfeet, line wrenches, stubbies, whatever in there.

Chalk me up as another vote for the 2 full width draws.

The way I look at it is, you can allows partition off a full width draw into sections if that works better for your tools but you can't stretch a narrower drawer.

the snap on rep around my neck of the woods has a promo going on right now if you buy the kra2422 or the 2411 you get a free 1/4" cordless screwdriver and a free roll cart as well as the $400 gift card so he's got me sold on that plus I can get the box itself with the free stuff for a steal.

I have the regular classic 78 and i love it. But an extra wide drawer would be nice. If I were buying new, I would get the SS.

If you dont mind me asking, is the white color limited in supply or a dealer only item?

When i ordered my tool box my snap on rep toldme i had two options.. It was either a white one with tap out decals or a flat black one. I told him if i could get an all white one. The original owner of this white box had bought it two months ago but he really wanted the tap out one.. So we traded .. He took the tap out one and gave me his white one.. I didnt mind as long as i got what i really wanted. Im not sure if its a special order all i know is the " S S " edition .
