Wanted to share an experience with the Snap On company. My 1960's tool box drawer had a friction slide problem so I called Snap On for a replacement set. First the friendly operator asked me if I was the original owner and I said no. She told me the slides will cost $20 shipped but then asked me if I inherited the box. I said yes, it was my father's. She said inherited boxes are covered by the original warranty and shipped the slides to me free. Very impressed with this USA based company.

I have never had an issue with SO service. I was very easy able to get parts for my 60's roll cab. Had I had the original lock, my dealership would have found away to get me one under warranty even though he knew I bought it the week before. Some guys ***** about SO. Either they got a crappy rep or were asking too much.

You're lucky. I had a 1978 era box that I had to make the bent slides work as best as possible, as they were NLA from Snap-On.

It is amazing that they keep parts in stock for obsolete toolboxes dating so far back. Most companies view such storage of parts as wasted warehouse floor space.

I thought slides and casters were covered forever regardless of original owner and if hey didn't have old slides they sent new rollers and it was up to you to retro fit?

It would be helpful if you put your location on your profile.
