I think it's a waste of space (drawers too deep) and it better come with a dozen roses and a tube of KY. For that price, they're going to have to sweeten me up before I get raped.

yeah the bottom two drawers can be switched out for 3 shallower drawers, but how do boxes the same size only have 15000 cubic inches of space, and this has 22000?, possibly the unreal deep drawers

cubic inches is a gimmic when it comes to storing most tools. Square inches is what matters the most. Sure, a one drawer 20,000 cu. in. box holds as many pliers (or whatever) as a ten drawer 20,000 cu. in. box, but do you want to go digging through 15" of pliers to find the pair you need?

I agree with nissan_crawler, it's square inches that count; that's why boxes with multiple thin drawers are so much more practical. For the cost of that SO cart, I'd MUCH rather have a Kennedy 3900MP.

Price and versatility, you would be better off buying a bottom box and hanging a prybar holder on the side. Most guys buy the roll cart b/c it looks cheaper sitting next to a 11,000 dollar box. The top compartment usually gets cluttered with junk ontop of the tools you have in the compartment b/c you have no workspace. Heck the Macto roll around cart looks like a bottom box with as many drawers as it has and is almost big enough and heavy enough that it takes away from the whole purpose of a roll cart. Just my opinion though.

I use a rubbermaid cart, so I tend to put things back when it gets overcrowded. You tend to know what you need for certain jobs and don't need all the other junk anyways.

I always thought the big SO cart was definitely over kill. Their KRSC31 seems like the one for someone who wants a big, but not too big cart. If I had gotten that behemoth, I literally wouldn't be able to get it to certain parts of the shop.

They seem to have a 'alternate' version of the KRSC40: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=21664&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Looks strange, can you grab stuff from the top compartment from behind the cart under the sliding tray?

I've seen them in use. They're well made with protected prybar storage on the sides but, 40 inches wide is pretty big for a tool cart. You can solve the work space issue with a folding shelf but, that makes the cart even bigger. As has already been pointed out, you could get a rollaway cart add a side shelf and prybar/screwdriver holder for alot less money. You would only really lose the open till storage area. The deep drawers in the Snap on cart are handy for all of those plastic boxes though. They also have other models without the bottom drawers with a bulk storage area instead. This cart would actually save money in the long run though. Instead of a huge tool box, you could get a couple of wall lockers to store the tools not used often and live out of your cart. There seems to be a super cart marketing war going on between the trucks. I have this Cornwell model that I wouldn't want to be without but, it was about $700 with a side shelf.

get a good used top chest and pit it on top of a mid chest and attach some wheels to the bottom of it and you have the same thing for alot less.
hell go to sears (yuck) and buy their top of the line bottom box and call it a tool cart...
