Any idea what year or model? I actually saw again today. My Grandfather was a mechanic...still has some of his tools in it and found schematics up under the hood of it today. Also, found the original keys to the original lock on the front of it. Wow. Have no idea how this huge box survived my Father, his generation, my generation and furthermore my Son. Who once proved that the electrical still work on it as well. Other than some dust it really is in perfect shape. Any idea who might want to give this a nice home and some time that my temperature controlled storage space isn’t giving it. Someone who’s appreciate and really want it?

53ish kr300. Here it is in the catalog. Usually go for 200 to 600 depending on condition. Here is a nice one I bought with keys for 300.

I love those.
As someone has already said; a KR300.

I have one and would like to eventually get more.
I got lucky on my first. It came with a matching top box. I think they were both purchased at the same time and have been together since new.

That might just be the romantic in me, but they both have the same date of 1955.
Actually I started a thread here and should update it now that I'm cleaning up the top box...

By they way, you can find the date.
On mine it's down in front, on the cross member but close to the left wheel.
Here you can see the model number. Below that under the dolly flange is where the date will be. Just after "USA".

I'm no expert, but I would guess your box is from the 1940s to the early 1950s. 1941-49, maybe 50-ish. If that's true, now that I think about it, you might not find a date. I heard that Snap-on started dating boxes around the early 1950s. I don't know but that might guide your understanding of what you do or do not find.
If you are really desperate to sell your grandfather's box, I'll happily buy it from you.
We can meet half-way between my house and yours. Not sure where that might be. Oklahoma? West Texas??

Regardless, it's a nice tool box and from here, that looks like a good example.
