Back in the late eighties we called it a Road Box. Appears to have the same layout and dimensions as the current online KRA4059FPBO. MSRP $1125?

Needs a hinge and could use a bit of straightening out but everything functions and it looks good.

Sorry having trouble uploading pics.

What's a fair price range if selling to your neighbour that you get along with wells/

What's a fair price for a neighbour that never returns the "snow angel" favour.

Yep - in Canada.

And yep - tough questions without pics.

Thanks

Dave

Yes they look similar and have the same layout, but they are quite different boxes build wise. What you probably have is a KRA59_ where _ is a letter designation. ~27" wide, 15" deep.

Back in the 80's they were all friction slides, the modern ones are ball bearing and friction slide mix. On average in REALLY GOOD condition, ~$250 and less for the older ones. Most of the ones I've seen (granted I'm down in the states) are in the ~$150 and less range. Again condition dependent. How you want to price a friend vs not is up to you.

Yep mid 80's or later KRA59_. Check the back it will be stamped model and date. Something like KRA59_ ##. Where _ is a letter and ## are the last two digits representing the year it was made. Looks to be in pretty decent condition. Got a few bangs and bruises, broken lid support, bent drawer, but overall pretty nice.

I had this old Snap On box and sold it on craigslist for $150. Some minor rust, it was repainted red, and the key core was removed but still functioned well. A guy drove 2 hours to come and get it, so maybe I gave it away too cheap? I just wanted it gone, and he was really excited about restoring it.

Nice box. 60's KRA-55 kinda an odd ball box.

Honesty I think you just lucked into the right person. Definitely not a give away @ $150 and that condition. Just my 2¢

Personally, I like these boxes. They're nostalgic for me. Although they are a little small.
